We are relational beings, hard-wired to connect. There is no greater gift than to be witness to one’s story and the complexities and rawness that comes with. I deeply cherish the courage it takes to seek therapy and am committed to remain curious, open and compassionate in our work together. It is my hope that I can offer you a space to both share your joys, witness your pain, and find enough safety in letting go of old patterns that don’t serve you anymore. I truly feel that to share in these moments of trust is both exhilarating and an honour.
I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree in 2009 and have since been registered in the province of Ontario with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as in the state of Michigan as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2021. I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families within a wide range of mental health issues including relationship and attachment concerns, perinatal mental health, family systems, depression and anxiety, OCD, complex trauma, and grief and loss. I have experience in multiple treatment modalities including advanced trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy for both individuals and couples, Gottman Method, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Exposure and Response Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and additional trauma modalities. I have also completed the Maternal Mental Health Professional Certificate Training and Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy Training with Postpartum Support International.
My approach to therapy is relational, experiential and trauma-informed. I am guided by attachment science, as I believe our early attachment experiences profoundly shape how we make sense of our world, create our story, and influence our connection with others. Our work together will be dynamic and process-oriented where I strive to create a safe and nurturing space for you to connect with even the most difficult of emotions with more confidence and clarity. I also deeply value the importance of providing affirming care to the LGBTQ2S+ community and am continuously striving to offer a culturally attuned and welcoming space for all.
If you are seeking individual therapy, I will assist you in developing increased self-awareness in defeating patterns and acquire fresh perspectives, explore feelings of connectedness with yourself and others, and the creation of corrective emotional experiences that may help you in healing from past traumas. For those interested in couple’s therapy, I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy which is an evidenced based technique that works towards facilitating deeper connection, more effective communication, and strengthening the attachment bond between you and your partner. Our work together will identify negative cycles happening within your relationship, uncover underlying needs and fears and how these raw spots may be impacting how we view ourselves and our partner, and create safety in turning towards one another to form new emotional bonds, deepen intimacy, and trust.

It’s wonderful to connect with you. I’m glad you’re here. Here is a bit about what I’ve learned so far and how I can help.
In 2015 I graduated from Wayne State with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a focus on Interpersonal Practise and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps better understand and respond to the way your mind works. It's a bit like discovering the inner workings of your brain. In CBT, we explore how your thoughts, behaviours and emotions influence each other. By learning to recognize and adjust these patterns, you gain the power to create a more positive and fulfilling mental landscape, helping you navigate life's ups and downs.
I refined my clinical skills at Henry Ford Behavioral Health by practising CBT under the mentorship and guidance of a diverse team of professionals, including social workers, licensed professional counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists and the Head of Outpatient Psychiatry. This experience not only deepened my understanding of CBT, helped me grow by learning and practising Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) but also honed my approach to therapy, while tailoring the art of therapy.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness, that help you become more aware of thoughts, emotions and sensations without judgement. It can help you learn how to manage intense emotions, improve your relationships, and cope with life's challenges. It teaches practical skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT encourages finding a balance between accepting yourself as you are and making positive changes in your life. It's particularly useful if you struggle with strong emotions, self-destructive behaviors, or difficulty in your relationships.
I completed a comprehensive year-long training program from the Linehan Group and was mentored under the guidance of a Certified DBT Therapist and Educator. Not only learning a form of therapy, but coupling that with how these tools work in real life to create the changes that you are looking for.

Welcome to Therapy Loft!

My hope is that in the quiet embrace of the space I offer, together, we can embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth. Unraveling the layers of our past while exploring buried emotions and challenging beliefs that have long defined our lived experiences can be healing. Through the therapeutic process, often a deeper understanding of ourselves emerges where we can embrace our imperfections and approach ourselves with a deeper sense of self-compassion. It is here that we can unlock doors to newfound wisdom, build resilience and empowerment.
I have extensive experience in the field of social work spanning nearly two decades. I earned my Master of Social Work degree in 2011 and have since been a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. My own personal lived experiences combined with professional development have equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding mental health for children, adolescents, adults, and families. My experience spans a wide array of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, life stressors, and relationship struggles to name a few. I have training in a variety of modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Attachment-Based approaches. My framework to therapy is trauma-informed and anti-oppressive which involves actively challenging systemic forms of oppression and discrimination.

In therapy, I hope to create a safe and empathetic space for you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and challenges. My role is to guide you in gaining insights, fostering self-awareness, and developing effective coping mechanisms.
